Interim Management: more than just executing tasks during temporary absence!


In several cases the organization is stuck in traditions, rigid structures, ideas, methodologies, processes, etc. Rigidity in a strongly changing market, society, environment and a growing economical market has major consequences. In these situations, next to executing temporary assigments due to capacity shortages, external objective independant expertise (interim manager) is of added value. 



Successful modern organizations use the knowledge, the intelligence, the motivation, the strength of coordination based on the (common) goal of the individuals (“self-management”) and teams ( "self-steering"). Often, these organizations have less “managers”. However, in some situations the deployment of an interim manager is useful or even necessary in order to, not only fulfill a capacity gap, but realize breakthroughs and "acceleration".  



Performance inprovement and growth is a process of ongoing development whereas agility is a preconditioned factor to succes due to fast and ongoing changes! The development of agile organizations is a continuos process. Through the power of self-direction, self-organization and team optimization, people can improve its own performance, teamperformances and organizations processes, meeting objectives. 

Sometimes the organic growth coherent to the economical grow is not sufficient and is "acceleration to establish breakthrough" in the short-term needed. Not only to realize short term goals but to create environments for success for future and strategic developments and objectives.

After intervention by the interim manager, the organization comes back on its own power on the new or higher evolutionary path. In the long term the result is sustainable because within its strategic framework it creates a "learning" agile organization.
